Mystic Bliss
Mystic Bliss
These soothing scents of mint, eucalyptus, and sage are inspired by St. Teresa of Avila, a mystic and a Doctor of the Church.
Behind the Inspiration
The Spanish reformer of the Carmelite order, St. Teresa of Avila experienced great physical suffering throughout her life, including being so ill as a child that when she came out of a coma, a grave had already been dug for her. She credits her recovery from the coma to the intercession of St. Joseph, for whom she later named her first convent.
The peaceful and transportive fragrance of St. Teresa's candle calls to mind her profound mystical writings and interior life. And the notes of mint, eucalyptus, and sage reference Teresa's own illnesses and her patronage of headache sufferers, as these scents are commonly used in aromatherapy to soothe and treat headaches.
She is the patron saint of headache sufferers, the sick, those who have suffered the loss of a parent, writers, and Spain. Her feast day is October 15.
St. Teresa of Avila, pray for us.
