He joined the Roman army while keeping his Christianity a secret, becoming bodyguard and intelligence officer to the Emperor Diocletian. He converted many souls, some of whom experienced miraculous healings. He was martyred not once, but twice. After surviving being shot through with arrows and left for dead, he healed from his wounds and went to the Emperor, admonished him, then finally received the martyr's crown. That's the perseverance of a true warrior.
